LT Alum Jake Elliott Is Super Bowl Bound

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Jake Elliott has already set the record for longest field goal ever made by a rookie, the longest kick ever made in Philadelphia and now he'll get to add a Super Bowl appearance to his NFL resume.

This all in less than one year Elliott has spent as a professional football player. The Lyons Township High School alum and Western Springs native will be the kicker for the Philadelphia Eagles when they face off against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis on Feb. 4.

Elliott has had a stellar rookie season for the Eagles, connecting on more than 80 percent of his field goal attempts during the season. In Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings, Elliott kicked five extra points and nailed a 38-yard field goal in a 38-7 win that sent the Eagles to their first Super Bowl appearance in 13 years.

In a September game against the New York Giants, Elliott kicked a 61-yard field goal that proved to be the game-winner for the Eagles and doubled as the longest field goal made in team history. READ MORE: LT Alum Kicks Game-Winning Field Goal For Philadelphia Eagles

Elliott starred for LT before accepting a scholarship to kick for Memphis University. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals before being cut and picked up by the Eagles.
