The Lyons Township High School Class of 2023 spent an entire day at South Campus before their first official day of the 2019-2020 school year. Incoming freshmen gathered for Freshman Experience Day at South Campus on August 14 to become familiar with South Campus, faculty and staff, and students. School begins for all students Monday, August 19.
The freshmen had South Campus all to themselves. They were divided into small groups all led by upperclassmen and supervised by an adult staff member. The small groups discussed LT traditions, along with what freshmen should expect the next four years of being an LT lion. Presentations from administrators were also scheduled, as well as team building activities, tours of South Campus and a complimentary pizza lunch in the main courtyard.
Freshman Experience Day is a great way for the incoming freshmen to get comfortable with a new school and with the idea of being a high school student at LT. This day is an LT tradition that makes the transition from middle school to high school a little bit easier.
