LTHS business students qualify for State competition

Eleven of LT's state qualifiers will compete in two categories. In addition to individual qualifiers, several teams will also advance.

Congratulations are in order for the Lyons Township High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) Club. Students recently competed in Regional contests and 27 qualified to compete at the State level in 20 different categories.

Eleven of LT’s state qualifiers will compete in two categories. In addition to individual qualifiers, several teams will also advance, including a 4-person Global Marketing Team and a 2-person Administrative Support Team. LT earned 11 first place finishes, nine second place finishes and seven third place finishes.

The BPA state competitions will be held in March. The students are led and coached by business teachers Krista Wilcox and Jennifer Walker.

Business Professionals of America is a national organization for high school and college students preparing for careers in business and office administration. The organization’s activities and program complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of skills learned at school. BPA contributes to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.
