Passenger Hijacks Lyft Driver's Car in Western Springs
The car was recovered, but the investigation is ongoing.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — As a Lyft driver was dropping off several passengers around 3:40 a.m. July 31, an argument broke out with one of the riders, who grabbed the driver, pulled him from the car and stole the car.
The carjacking took place in the 5300 block of Grand Avenue, according to Western Springs police, and the car thief drove away northbound on Grand Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black man, about 30 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 230 pounds with a shaved head, police reported. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police say the man and the driver argued about if the driver would take him back to Chicago. The driver wasn't injured, and no weapons were used.
The car was found at 7:30 a.m. July 31, abandoned in Burr Ridge near 91st Street. The car had a damaged front passenger-side tire and rim.
