Man Refuses Arrest, Runs Away From Cops: Western Springs Police Blotter

DUIs and theft also make appearances on this week's blotter.

The following items were taken from the Western Springs police blotter throughout the past week.

DUI: Drugs

  • Spencer Robb, 22, of Glen Ellyn was arrested just before 2 p.m. Jan. 10 for driving while under the influence of illegal drugs. Spencer was reportedly parked in the curb lane of Ogden Avenue at Lawn Avenue, police said, and when they approached him and conducted a breathalyzer test, he failed that and several field sobriety tests. He was also cited for not having insurance.

  • Marchello Pinex, 25, was stopped by police at 1:43 p.m. Jan. 11 because he was blocking a gas pump at 5500 Wolf Rd. and asking people for money. When officers approached Pinex, who’s from Chicago, he refused to hand over identification and ran away from the police. He was charged with resisting arrest by a peace officer, obstructing a peace officer and not having a valid driver’s license.

Theft

  • Someone reportedly stole a cellphone from a student’s locker at Lyons Township High School Jan. 14 while the student was in afternoon gym class. The total loss in value is about $100.

Property damage

  • An unknown suspect damaged the door of a home in the 5700 block of Woodland Avenue, police said. The incident happened sometime between 4 p.m. Jan. 7 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 8.
  • Someone reportedly damaged a back window in a house that’s under construction in the 4500 block of Central Avenue. The window was damaged with a metal object, police said, sometime between 10 p.m. Jan. 15 and 7:54 a.m. Jan. 16.
