Most pharmacies in Western Springs will remain open on the Sunday holiday as some grocery chains will be closed.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Easter Sunday has often created some last-minute meal preps, but many of the most popular grocery stores in and near Western Springs will be open on Easter, which falls of April 4 this year.

Mariano’s, located at 4700 Gilbert Ave., along with Whole Foods in Hinsdale, Tony’s Fresh Market and Jewel-Osco in Countryside, Trader Joe’s in La Grange, will all be open on Easter, according to the store’s websites. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods will remain open until 9 p.m. while Mariano’s and Tony’s will remain open until 10 p.m. and Jewel-Osco will remain open until midnight, according to the store’s websites.

National chains are varied in their opening plans for the holiday celebrated across Christian faiths. At least 38 chain stores plan to close for Easter, with at least 23 opening for at least a part of it, according to a list from the coupon company RetailMeNot.

Meijer, Stop & Shop and Walmart are among the chain stores offering curbside pickup and delivery.
