Property Damage, Identity Theft, Speeding: Western Springs Police

Local residence reported damage being done to their fence and vehicles while three people claimed fraudulent unemployment claims were made.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The Western Springs Police Department released its latest blotter. Here is information from the reports:

  • A person reported unidentified people doing damage to a homeowner’s fence on Oak Street on the evening on March 21. The homeowner reported the cost of the repairs to the damages to be at $1,500.
  • A person in the 3900 block of Forest Avenue reported on the evening of March 23 that a fraudulent claim for unemployment benefits was made in their name.
  • A person in the 4000 block of Central Avenue reported in the afternoon of March 23 that a fraudulent claim for unemployment benefits was made in their name.
  • A person in the 5400 block of Johnson Avenue reported in the evening on March 23 that a fraudulent claim for unemployment benefits was made in their name.
  • A person in the 5500 block of Wolf Road reported in afternoon of March 23 and March 24 that an unknown person or persons punctured two tires on her vehicle while parked in the parking lot of her condominium building. The value of each tire was reported at $175.
  • Veronica Torres, 30, Burr Ridge, was detained for speeding at 10:24 a.m. on March 22. Officers at the time determined that Torres did not have a valid driver’s license, which she was cited for along with along with speeding.
  • Janette Ferrer, 25, Cicero, was detained for speeding at 3:56 p.m. on March 24. Officers at the time determined that Ferrer did not have a valid driver’s license, which she was cited for along with speeding.
  • Noe Hernandez-Guzman, 36, Mount Prospect, was detained for speeding at 4:37 a.m. on March 26. Officers at the time determined that Hernandez-Guzman did not have a valid driver’s license, which he was cited for along with speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle.
