Roadway Program Construction Starts In Western Springs

The first phase of the project will be the underground sewer/water infrastructure work.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Construction will soon begin around Western Springs for the 2018 Roadway Program. Western Springs village staff and Davis Concrete, the general contractor for the 2018 Roadway Program, will be attending a pre-construction meeting on the week of July 9.

According to the village, the purpose of the meeting will be to solidify project details and schedules. The village said Davis Concrete has stated that they plan to start work on the project shortly after the pre-construction meeting.

The first phase of the project will be the underground sewer/water infrastructure work. According to the village, the underground work is located at various locations throughout Lawn and Johnson Avenue. This phase of the project will be minimally intrusive unless they are working directly in front of your home for the day.

The contractor will notify you if there is going to be a loss of driveway access. Driveway access will only be inaccessible for a 1-3 hours when they are directly in front of your home, during this phase of the project. Parking on Lawn Avenue maybe also be affected while the contractor is in the area, the village said.

When the underground work is done, the roadway reconstruction portion of the project will occur. Davis Concrete is planning to begin the roadway portion of the project on Lawn Avenue. The Johnson Avenue reconstruction will occur once Lawn Avenue has been completed, according to the village.
