Village helps restaurants with expanding outdoor seating, news release says.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — With the new phase of the pandemic response, restaurants can open for outdoor dining. Once Western Springs restaurants meet village requirements, they can serve alcohol within designated outdoor areas under an executive order signed by Village President Alice Gallagher.

According to a village news release, restaurants can expand seating into public parking spaces along portions of Hillgrove and Burlington, using concrete barricades for protection. Currently, Hash Stacks, Salerno’s, and Guac N Tacos plan to use public parking areas for outdoor dining, the village said.

Honey Bee Café will offer outdoor dining in its private parking lot, while Hillgrove Tap and Davanti will continue to use their existing outdoor dining areas, with fewer tables to allow for appropriate distancing, the news release said.
