Summer 2021 School Supplies Mission Project

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs Mission Committee is pleased to announce our 2021 Summer Mission Project! We will be collecting school supplies for the People’s Resource Center. Their summer goal is to gather enough supplies to provide 1,000 needy students a backpack filled with all the school supplies they’ll need when the next school term resumes in the fall.

We’ve all learned about the devastating impact of the pandemic on education over the past terms. PCWS will be helping provide brand-new supplies to students in need. When school starts anew in the fall, these students will be well equipped for re-entering the classroom!

PCWS will be collecting the following new school supply items through Friday, July 30th:

• Backpacks
• 2-pocket folders
• Colored Pencils
• Crayons
• Erasers Glue (like Elmer’s)
• Glue Sticks
• Headphones/earbuds
• Highlighters
• Index Cards
• Kids scissors
• Kids Markers
• Loose leaf paper (wide & college ruled)
• Pencils
• Pens (black, blue and red)
• Protractors & Compasses
• Rulers Scientific Calculators
• Spiral notebooks (wide & college ruled)
• Sticky note pads

Remember the excitement and anticipation of getting supplies for the new school term when growing up? We ask you to share that excitement with these students. Help create a feeling of support for students in need when they start a new school term fortified with brand new school supplies! Please do not donate items that are not on the list or donate items that are not brand new.

We will collect these new school items until Friday, July 30th. Bring your items to PCWS, and place them in the lockers outside the office. Visit our website for more information!
