Twenty-two Pianists Perform at 54th Annual Piano Festival
Western Springs Music Club Festival February 2nd, 2019

Twenty-Two young pianists performed in the Western Springs Music Club’s 54th Annual Piano Festival at the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange on Saturday, February 2nd. Each student played two works by memory and received a fair, detailed critique by a professional judge.
The Western Springs Music Club, which started in 1921, is pleased to play a role in promoting the next generation of musicians. The Club provides Parrello-Veverka scholarships in memory of two former members of the Club, Barbara Parrello and Mary Veverka.
Natalie Vlcek of La Grange, in the Junior Division, received a $125 scholarship and Kate Dickman, of La Grange Park, received $150 in the Senior Division.

Sixteen pianists from the Festival will move on to play in an Honors Recital on February 10 at 4 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange, 150 S Ashland Avenue, La Grange, IL 60525.
