TWS Presents The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, LT Jazz Ensemble
All fans of the Big Band and Swing eras are invited to the event.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The Theatre of Western Springs will present the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Theatre of Western Springs, 4384 Hampton Ave. The theatre said the evening is part of the TWS Performance Series which raises funds for the theatre, and all fans of the Big Band and Swing eras are invited.
“This is the music of America as arranged by one of the greats,” Ann Marie Hultgren, chair of the Performance Series, said in a release. “It’s a treat for all ages.”
The theatre said the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra has continued for decades and is still in demand all over the world performing with symphony orchestras, at performing arts centers, on cruise ships, hotels and at summer music festivals.

Today’s orchestra is directed by Bill Tole and features vocalist Nancy Knorr.
The Lyons Township High School Jazz Ensemble will be a featured guest and will open the evening, according to the theatre. Under the direction of Mark Dahl and Paul Meiste, Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned band open to LT juniors and seniors. The band has played with guest artists: Mark Colby, Doug Stone, Tom Garling, Neal Alger and Tito Carrillo.

Tickets to the event are $35 for TWS subscribers; $40 for non-subscribers.
