Western Springs Death Notices: Silviano Gomez, 77

The following obituary was recently featured on Legacy.com:

Dr. Silviano Gomez, 77, of Western Springs, was the husband of Susanne Gomez and the father of Silviano Gomez, Mary Heern and Dr. Angela Lam. Dr. Gomez is the grandfather of four grandchildren and the brother of Angela Frachou. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Tabitha. Born in Placetas, Cuba, Dr. Gomez came to the U.S. to practice pediatric medicine. He practiced at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago Board of Health, and Mercy Medical Center. A visitation for Dr. Gomez was held Oct. 25 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside. His funeral mass took place Saturday at St. John of the Cross Church. He was laid to rest at Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Donations to St. John of the Cross Parish, the Hispanic Ministry at St. Cletus Church in LaGrange, or the Sisters of Mercy are appreciated. An obituary for Dr. Gomez was published in the Chicago Tribune on Oct. 24.
