Western Springs Obituaries: Kelly Kennedy, 51

Kelly Kennedy, 51, of Western Springs, was the mother of Amie (Mark Rule) Durr, the sister of Michael Jr. (Pepper) Kennedy and Debra Kennedy, and the daughter of Arliss and the late Michael Kennedy. A memorial mass for family and friends took place Jan. 13 at St. John of the Cross Church in Western Springs. Donations to Wellness House in Hinsdale are encouraged. An obituary for Ms. Kennedy was published in the Chicago Tribune on Jan. 12.

Nancy J. Leslie, 83, of Western Springs, was the wife of the late George R. Leslie, the mother of Susan, Debbie (Joe Starus), and Brian (Anne) Leslie, the grandmother of Ryan Leslie, and the sister of Margaret Kidd. A funeral mass will take place Friday at 9:45 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church in Western Springs. Donations to the American Cancer Society are encouraged. An obituary for Ms. Leslie was published in the Chicago Sun-Times on Jan. 14.
Eileen A. Carlson, a La Grange Park resident formerly of Western Springs, was the wife of Edward, mother of Mary (Gerard) Harper, Ellen (Thomas) Olson, Edward (Shirley) Carlson, Peggy (Mark) Grogan and Nancy (Seamus) Byrne. She had nine grandchildren. Ms. Carlson was active at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Western Springs and began its annual garage sale. She also worked at the Resale Shop of La Grange. A visitation took place Jan. 10 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside, and a memorial mass took place Saturday at St. John of the Cross. Donations to Little Sisters of the Poor are encouraged. An obituary for Ms. Carlson was published in the Chicago Tribune on Jan. 9.
