Western Springs Obituaries: Marilyn Havlat, 86

The obituaries of the following Western Springs residents were recently featured on Legacy.com:

Marilyn D. Havlat, 86, was a resident of La Grange Park and former resident of Western Springs. Wife of the late Edward Havlat, Ms. Havlat was the mother of Lynn Colbeck and Jim Havlat. She was the grandmother of three. A visitation was held Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., in Brookfield. Ms. Havlat's funeral was held Oct. 28. She was buried at Forest Home Cemetery. Donations to Interfaith Community Partners, 1515 West Ogden Ave., La Grange Park, are appreciated. An obituary for Ms. Havlat was published by Suburban Life on Oct. 30.

Margaret Virginia Benjamin, 93, died on Sept. 30, 2012. She was a resident of Western Springs from 1969 to 1980 before retiring to Florida. She returned to the western suburbs in 2005. Preceded in death by husband Frank X. Benjamin and daughter Susan Benjamin Beutler, Ms. Benjamin is survived by daughters Betty Jean Benjamin Mann and Judith Ann Benjamin Johnson, and sons William Benjamin and Ken Benjamin. Ms. Benjamin was grandmother to six and great grandmother to 10. An obituary for Ms. Benjamin was published in the Chicago Tribune on Oct. 31.
