Western Springs PD Receives Fourth Law Enforcement Reaccreditation Award
The rigorous 36-month process left WSPD with two trophies.

After a multi-year process, the Western Springs Police Department officially received its fourth Law Enforcement Reaccreditation Award on Nov. 5, the department announced Monday.
Police Chief Pamela Church announced in a release that the department had undergone thorough examination by the international Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. before being presented with its fourth award at a ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina, earlier this month.
The reaccreditation process took around 36 months, Church said. Every aspect of the department, including its policies, procedures, management, operations and support services were evaluated.

In addition to its accreditation award, the department took home another trophy: the Accreditation with Excellence Award, which, according to the release, “signifies the department’s continuous commitment to public safety professionalism.”
The Western Springs Police Department has been nationally accredited since 2004. It is one of just 50 accredited police agencies in the state, and one of 821 in the country.
