Western Springs Police Reports: Driving Without License, Bike Theft

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through July 11.

Nicholas T. Martin, 20 of the 2300 block of S. Trumbull Street in Chicago, was stopped July 6 for speeding over posted limit at Ogden Avenue and Interstate 294. A records check confirmed defendant was driving without a license.

A 16-year-old boy from Chicago was driving a car July 7 that left the road and struck and damaged a private residential fence at Ogden and Franklin avenues. The boy was treated and transported to La Grange Hospital with minor injuries. There was no other occupants in his car and no other cars were involved in the crash. The boy was charged with not having a valid driver's license, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Someone entered an unlocked detached residential garage and took a men’s bicycle in the 5000 block of Lawn Avenue. The burglary reportedly occurred sometime between July 1 and 2. The bicycle had an undetermined value.
