Western Springs School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The first day of school in Western Springs is August 22 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Western Springs District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates, such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/20 - 8/21: Teacher Institute Days
• 8/22: First Day of School

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/26: Late Arrival (10 a.m.), Morning Kindergarten 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Afternoon Kindergarten 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

October

• 10/3: Early Dismissal (Elementary Dismissal at 11:40 a.m., McClure Dismissal at 11:52 a.m., Morning Kindergarten Only)
• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/9: No School (Teacher Institute Day)

November

• 11/1: Late Arrival 10 a.m., Morning Kindergarten 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Afternoon Kindergarten 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
• 11/6: No School (Election Day)
• 11/19 - 11/20: No School (Parent-Teacher Conferences)
• 11/21 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/5: Early Dismissal (Elementary Dismissal at 11:40 a.m., McClure Dismissal at 11:52 a.m., Morning Kindergarten Only)
