What Post Office Says About Western Springs Mail Issues
At least one resident says she's not received mail in the past week.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — One Western Springs resident says she has gone a week without mail getting delivered. Similar issues also are being reported in Elmhurst. The post office blamed the pandemic.
In Western Springs, a resident said she and her neighbors had gone a week without mail until service returned Friday.
"This is unacceptable," she said in an email.

Tim Norman, a Chicago-based spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service, told Patch in an email that mail service is "ongoing" in Western Springs. But he indicated the post office is facing challenges.
"We are flexing our available resources to match the workload created by the impacts of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic," Norman said. "We appreciate the patience of our customers and the efforts of employees as conditions change on a day-to-day basis."

He asked Patch for the Western Springs resident's block, so he could figure out the issue. Patch provided the information Thursday, but had not heard back as of Friday afternoon.
In February, La Grange-area residents were complaining about a lack of mail service.
