Looks like we may have a beautiful Fourth of July weekend ahead of us in the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.

• Friday: Sunny, with a high near 75. East wind around 5 mph. Evening: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

• Saturday: Independence Day will be sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Evening: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69.

Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on both days.
