Arson Investigation, Fraud Among Yorkville Crime Reports: Police

Yorkville police said they're investigating a recent arson reported Aug. 10.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police responded to the following incidents reported during the second week of August 2020:

Arson

According to a Yorkville Police Department report, Yorkville police are investigating after blacktop was burned in the 200 block of Boombah Boulevard just before 11:30 a.m. Monday. An arson investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Fraud

Yorkville police responded to the 3900 block of Havenhill Court around noon Monday for a fraud incident. According to the police report, this is where someone told police they were scammed by a PayPal account for $49,000.

Criminal trespass and possession of stolen property

Yorkville police arrested a juvenile Tuesday morning on accusations of having stolen property and trespassing inside someone's car parked in a driveway. According to the police report, the juvenile was arrested after a homeowner in the 300 block of E. Ridge Street caught the juvenile inside a car in the driveway at 5:30 a.m. Police got to the address mentioned above and found the juvenile had "proceeds" in their possession from other reported burglaries.
