Construction On New Fiber Optic Network Starts Soon In Yorkville

YORKVILLE, IL — Officials in Yorkville say MetroNet will be bringing a new fiber optic network to the city in the coming months. According to a news release, the fiber optic network will provide residents and business owners with new options for internet, TV and phone service.

Officials say to prepare for construction in many area neighborhoods.

"You will start to see trucks and personnel in the area preparing for construction," officials said. "Prior to construction in your neighborhood, you will receive a letter and a postcard reminder. You will also notice large signs at the entrance of your subdivision and smaller signs closer to your mailbox."

The city gave no estimate for how long the construction will take, saying it depends on obtaining permits and, of course, the weather.
