Kendall County Resists Yorkville TIF District Vote

Despite a large turnout, county resisted reconsideration of Downtown Yorkville TIF District

YORKVILLE, IL — The Kendall County Board did not consider a motion for an approval letter for the proposed downtown Yorkville Tax Increment Financing, or TIF District, at its meeting Tuesday night. WSPY News reports there was a large turnout at the meeting. Yorkville's mayor was asking Kendall County Board members to reconsider their Nov. 20 vote on the letter of approval.

WSPY reports that the mayor's begging "fell on deaf ears, as no county board member made a motion to reconsider the approval of the letter." A letter of approval is required from all taxing districts before the city can approach the state for approval.
