Yorkville Shops Gear Up For Weekend Deals

YORKVILLE, IL — If you're looking to avoid the chaos of Black Friday shopping, or you want to feel good about supporting local businesses on Small Business Saturday, you needn't go far. Yorkville is offering a variety of activities, sales and events for the whole family, or just for yourself. The city's Chamber of Commerce compiled a list of shops and organizations taking part.

Black Friday

Black Friday Dance Party: 4 - 6 p.m. Rudolf, Frosty and friends are putting on a holiday-themed dance with crafts and snacks for kids ages 3 - 10. Admission for the first child is $20, and $15 for the rest. It's all happening at the Gold Star Academy of Dance, 608 E Veterans Pkwy.

Yoga membership BOGO deals at Sense of Samadhi, 135 E. Van Emmon St. Use that extra month as a gift, or for yourself.

If you're not much of a shopper and you want to opt out of Black Friday, the Fox Valley YMCA is offering a free, family event with dodge ball, family Zumba, Advent calendar crafts and Aqua Track, with food and drinks. If you've already done your holiday shopping, they'll have a wrapping paper booth. Feel free to bring your own. Its free, and you don't have to be a member to attend! A portion of gift card purchases on Black Friday will go to charity. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 3875 Eldamain Rd. in Plano.

Take a drive along the Fox River to see Santa at Redbud Creek Farm. Friday from 1 - 3 p.m., guests can sip cocoa and decorate cookies at the farm, at 2930 N 4351st Rd. in Sheridan.

Small Business Saturday

The Natural Pharmacy is offering 10 percent off all products on Small Business Saturday.

Stephen Alan Salon will be open 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Small Business Saturday, offering 20 percent off styling products like hair dryers and flatirons, BOGO travel size products, a free gift for everyone that comes in the first hour and a gift card deal. 520 E. Kendall Drive.

Harmony Aesthetics is offering gift card deals thru Dec. 23 at 101 E. Center St. The spa is adding on a free paraffin hand wax treatment for every facial booked in the month of November.

Shhhenanigans Silent Disco at the Law Office Pub: Saturday, Nov. 25 from 8 p.m. - 2 a.m. at 226 S. Bridge St.
