Yorkville Police Blotter: Nov. 2 - 6

Incident reports include a 15-year-old arrested for DUI, an injured raccoon and two possible cases of fraud.

YORKVILLE, IL — From a 15-year-old boy arrested for a DUI to an injured raccoon, Yorkville Police had their hands full this past week. Here are some highlights taken from Yorkville Police reports from Nov. 2 - 6.

A 15-year-old drove a Buick LeSabre into a concrete barrier Nov. 2 just after midnight, according to police. He was charged with a DUI, driving without a valid license and improper lane usage. The incident happened in the 200 block of S. Route 47. His passenger, 19-year-old Alfonso Villa, from Plano, was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora for minor injuries. Villa was charged with no seat belt and unlawful consumption of alcohol. Both were charged with unlawful transportation of alcohol.

A deer crossing Route 71 east of Wing Street caused major damage to a Hyundai Tucson Nov. 3 at 5:18 a.m. A 42-year-old Yorkville driver struck the animal with his front bumper and passenger headlight, police say. There were no injuries reported by the man.

Yorkville Police responded to a call about an injured raccoon at the 100 block of E. Washington Street. Police determined upon arrival that the raccoon would have to be put down due to "humanitarian reasons," according to the Nov. 3 police report.

A 24-year-old woman from Elburn was trying to negotiate a curve on the 3200 block of Cannonball Trail when she lost control and struck a utility pole, police say. The driver was taken to Rush-Copley Medical for minor injuries Nov. 4 around 4:15 p.m.

Anne Scott, 43, of the 800 block of Sard Avenue in Aurora, was arrested for a DUI Nov. 4 at 9:11 p.m. Scott allegedly fled the scene of an accident and was later located after crashing into a traffic sign in the median of Route 47. According to the police report, she was cited for leaving the scene, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A woman's wallet was taken from an unlocked car parked at the 1600 block of N. Beecher Road Nov. 6, police say. The incident took place around 9 p.m. The victim told police that she left her car an hour while shopping, and when she returned, her wallet with $240 in it was gone, along with her license and credit cards. The car was not damaged.

A fraud incident that took place Nov. 2 around noon was reported days later. The police report says an unknown person, or people, took someone's personal check. The matter is under investigation.

Another fraud incident was reported that allegedly took place the following day, Nov. 3. Police say an unknown person or people took money from a victim's bank account. This incident is also under investigation.

Police responded to a hit-and-run accident that occurred Nov. 4, 9:10 p.m. at the 2000 block of Raintree Road, according to Yorkville cops.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
