Yorkville Police Reports: Nov. 30 - Dec. 6

Yorkville Police responded to an incident of a food delivery man leaving his car in the drive gear and bumping into a garage.

YORKVILLE, IL — The week saw a few minor car accidents, a battery incident and a DUI. Overall, police reports would indicate it was not too hectic of a week for officers. Keep in mind while reading that all individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in the court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

Police responded Nov. 29 to the area of Route 34 and Route 47 for an accident with injuries. One vehicle struck another while crossing traffic, according to the accident report. A 21-year-old woman driving a 2003 Mercury Marauder was ticketed for driving without insurance. A juvenile driving a Toyota Corolla was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center and was ticketed for failure to yield turning left, police said.

An officer responded to the 500 block of Washington Street for a violation of an order of protection report. The suspect, who was unnamed in the report, violated its conditions Nov. 29 at 11:30, according to the police report.

A three-car accident Nov. 30 led to the discovery of a DUI. William R. Volny, 61, of the 2500 block of Lyman Loop in Yorkville, was ticketed for failure to reduce speed, following too closely, driving without insurance and a DUI. The incident happened near the corner of Bristol Ridge and Route 34 around 12:42 p.m., police said. Volny failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Kendall County Corrections.

Police responded to a domestic battery incident Nov. 30 at 6:36 a.m. at the 800 block of Parkside Lane. According to the police report, during the investigation, police determined that Benjamin T. Kueh, 67, of the same address, had physically struck someone. He was arrested for domestic battery and transported to Kendall County Jail, police said.

Police were called to the 300 block of Ridge Street for a death investigation Nov. 30 at 3:10 a.m., according to the incident report.

A 21-year-old food delivery driver left his vehicle in drive while he got out to deliver the food Nov. 30 at 6:40 p.m. Police said the vehicle rolled forward, striking the garage door of the residence.

Yorkville police responded Nov. 30 to the 1300 block of Marketplace Drive to check out a vehicle that had struck a parked car and a building around 9:01 p.m., according to the report.

An alarm was activated Dec. 6 at 11:04 p.m. for a business at the 200 block of Route 34. Officers said they located a broken window. No one was located at the scene, and the incident is under investigation.
