Animal Services Seeks Assistance Identifying Dog's Owner Following Bite In Iowa City

The dog was seen with a medium-sized American terrier-like dog with a short coat that was white with some tan.

Between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, an individual reported being bitten by a smaller, black, curly-coated dog, possibly a cockapoo, that was loose north of the intersection of Dodge Street and Prairie Du Chien Road.

The dog was seen with a medium-sized American terrier-like dog with a short coat that was white with some tan. Both dogs were loose and ran across Prairie Du Chein, but were retrieved later by two juveniles.

Iowa City Animal Services is looking to locate the owners of both dogs for information regarding their rabies vaccination histories. If anyone has information about the identity of the owner, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal Services directly at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275.
