Community Connection: Restructuring the Police Department

Community Connection is a video series that highlights the different people and organizations in our community. Each episode, Mayor Bruce Teague interviews guests about a variety of issues that are important to our residents.

In an effort to change the way policing is handled in our community, a preliminary plan to restructure the Iowa City Police Department is under consideration, with an emphasis on community policing. Listen to Police Chief Dustin Liston discuss the community policing concept, the progress of current policing initiatives, and how community input will play a role in finalizing these recommendations.
