Holiday Schedules: City Services Closed, Delayed In Iowa City

IOWA CITY, IA — City Hall administrative offices in Iowa City will be closed Monday, Dec. 25, Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, and Monday, Jan 1, 2018, for the holidays.

The following schedules will be in effect for other City facilities during the holidays:

Airport: Office closed Dec. 25, 2017 - Jan. 1, 2018. Jet Air (FBO) will be closed Dec.25, but will be available for a fee by calling 319-248-1200. It will be available regular hours the other days.

Animal Care and Adoption Center: Closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.

Landfill and Recycling Center: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Library: Closed Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1

• Open Tuesday, Dec. 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Open Sunday, Dec. 31 from noon to 5 p.m.

Oakland Cemetery: Closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.

Parking: Office closed and no enforcement Dec. 25, 26, 31 and Jan. 1.

Parks and Recreation: Due to renovations, the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center will remain closed through Jan. 7, 2018. The Mercer Park Aquatic Center will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1.

• On Sunday, Dec. 31 the Mercer Park Aquatic Center pool will close at 4 p.m., and the rest of the facility will close at 5 p.m.

Police: Patrol on-duty. Records and administrative offices closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.

Senior Center: Closed Dec. 23 - 26, Dec. 30 - Jan. 1. No extended member hours Dec. 27-29.

• No senior meals.

Trash & Recycling: Refuse and recycling will not be collected Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

• Monday routes will be collected Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 2.
• Have items curbside by 7 a.m. The City cannot determine exactly when items will be collected.
• The City will begin picking up Christmas trees on Monday, Jan. 8.

Transit: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Free service (Saturday scheduled) on Tuesday, Dec. 26.

Water: Closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.
