Services: Sidekick Coffee and Books is a bookstore that offers Intelligentsia, Heyn’s ice cream, and a variety of pastries.

Sidekick Coffee and Books joined the Business Partnership to gain more customers and become more connected with other local businesses.

Sidekick Coffee and Books combines two of Katy Herbold’s favorite things: reading and her children. The name comes from the fact that Herbold considers her children her “sidekicks”.

Herbold designed the bookstore with children in mind. With a background in elementary education, she wanted kids to have an opportunity to explore reading in her store. She created Sidekick with an emphasis on story time and multi-sensory experiences. “People learn differently, and at Sidekick, we embrace it,” Herbold said.

Sidekick has options for adults too. Along with a wide range of books, they offer direct trade coffee and unique in-store seating. Tip Top Cakes creates their pastries, which include scones, croissants, and quiches, and Heyn’s ice cream is always available.

“We strive to bring you the best-tasting coffee and the best selection of children’s books in the area,” says Herbold. “We hope to be part of the community and your lives for a long time to come. “
