The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating Arbor Day with several tree plantings over the next two weeks.

The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating Arbor Day with several tree plantings over the next two weeks. The Forestry Division's Arbor Day Program has supported community plantings for 41 years by partnering with local organizations to educate on the benefits of planting trees while offering a hands-on experience of tree planting.

In addition to the Arbor Day plantings, staff has started spring tree plantings in city parks and along right-of-ways (ROWs). The ROW is the strip between the sidewalk and the street.
