Mercer Park Farmers Market Profile: Brittany Native Offers French Baked Goods
The Mercer Park Farmers Market debuted on May 7 and runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each Tuesday.
Meet vendor Matthieu Biger, a native of the Brittany region of France, who came to Iowa along with his wife after they met in New England. Biger said he has undergone tutelage in French baked good making in France and also uses some of his favorite home recipes from his hometown of Rennes.
Biger has a booth at the Mercer Park Farmers Market. It his first Farmers Market he's ever done.
"I figured I'm new, this market is new, so it's a good fit," Biger said.
The Mercer Park Farmers Market debuted on May 7 and runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each Tuesday. It features some vendors from the former Sycamore Mall Farmers Market and the New Bo City Market in Cedar Rapids, along with vendors like Biger who is only available at the Mercer Park Market.Â
