Washington Street In Iowa City Closed From Gilbert To Van Buren For Juneteenth Block Party

East Washington Street from will be closed from South Gilbert Street to South Van Buren Street starting at noon Thursday, June 17, 2021. The street will reopen by late night the same day.

The street is being closed for the Juneteenth Block Party at Chauncey Swan Park, which begins at 5 p.m.

The Washington Street entrance to Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp will not be accessible during this time. The East College Street and East Burlington Street entrances to the ramp will remain open.
