The disturbance will likely develop into a tropical depression over the next two days as it moves west-northwest at about 10 miles per hour. Locally, impacts may include storms with heavy rain and gusty winds and some coastal flooding in areas outside of levee protection. New Orleans is in a marginal risk area for excessive rainfall now through Friday and the National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect 7 a.m. Thursday through 7 a.m. Friday morning for areas outside the levees. Additional watches or warnings may be issued for our area.

The New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is in regular contact with the National Weather Service New Orleans and is monitoring the system. Still activated in response to COVID-19, the City's Emergency Operations Center is also ready to respond as necessary should this system impact New Orleans.
