Traffic Advisory: Temporary Closure Of 700 Block Of Bourbon Street For Roadway Restoration In City Of New Orleans
The roadway is scheduled to reopen to vehicular traffic at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, weather permitting.

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works today announced a week-long closure of the 700 block of Bourbon Street between Orleans and St. Ann streets beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, weather permitting, to accommodate crews removing the panel at the northwest corner of the intersection. The block will be open to pedestrian traffic and all businesses will be accessible during this work; the intersections of Orleans and Bourbon streets and St. Ann and Bourbon streets will remain fully open to traffic.

Public safety is our priority; signage will be in place throughout the closure. The roadway is scheduled to reopen to vehicular traffic at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, weather permitting. This work is part of an approximately $600,000 pavement restoration project of roadway panels and sidewalk sections on Bourbon Street between Canal Street and St. Philip Street following upgrades/repairs by a number of utility companies. Work began in March and is anticipated to be wrapped up in June/July.

During the restoration process, there are sidewalk and lane closures, as well as possible intermittent roadway closures while crews are removing sections. Additionally, there may be large trucks and heavy equipment hauling materials in the area.
In general, Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC is working from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents and visitors are advised to adhere to "no parking" signage as vehicles in these zones will be ticketed and towed.
