The New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe presented by Nola Vibes, a Lifestyle Guide for New Residents, launched this month to offer support for new residents of the city. The New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe is the official Welcome Wagon for new residents of New Orleans. The New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe is a team of local business owners who aspire to shape the future of New Orleans by creating personal connections with new residents.

The New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe was inspired by the Facebook Support group Moving To New Orleans which has reached nearly 4,000 members. Members join the online support group to learn about the city, ask for referrals for life maintenance issues and find help with finding the right home here in New Orleans.

A team of 10 Krewe Leaders will act as mentors to new and hopeful residents to offer insight into the New Orleans culture. Krewe Leaders are sponsors of the New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe and reap the benefits of exposure to thousands of new residents who want to learn where to go, who to trust and how to navigate life in The Big Easy.

The founder of the New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe is Te-Erika Patterson, a New Orleans city ambassador, community activist and author. Te-Erika moved to New Orleans in late 2019, just before the pandemic hit. She says she encountered so many obstacles along her journey to create a great life in New Orleans and was often in despair because she didn't have anyone to turn to for help.

"I created the New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe because I wish I had support when I moved to New Orleans." Te-Erika says. "I love this city, for every reason and for no reason, and I understand what it's like to walk into this type of life transition. I invite all business leaders who want to be a part of shaping the culture of our city to join the New Orleans Bienvenue Krewe and build long lasting relationships with people who feel the draw to move here."

Bienvenue Krewe Leaders become the first smiling faces that new residents meet which builds credibility and trust. Krewe Leaders enjoy the benefit of exclusive business exposure to new residents who join the active Moving To New Orleans Facebook support group.

The Krewe hopes to fulfill its mission of enhancing the quality of life in New Orleans. "When people feel welcomed and supported, they are happier and can go out and share that happiness with the entire city," Te-Erika explains. "We want New Orleans to be magic for our tourists and our new residents."

The Bienvenue Krewe plans to host private socials to allow new residents to get to know local business leaders and their businesses, as well as participate in next year's Mardi Gras and have an official Ball to celebrate new life in New Orleans.
