New Orleans’s 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled

New Orleans's traditional Fourth of July events have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and a lack of funding.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including New Orleans. The annual Go 4th on the River fireworks show has been canceled.

"We are so grateful for all of our local business sponsors who have financially supported this event over three decades," said Adrienne Thomas, Treasurer of the RMG, in a news release. "But these times caused us to carefully evaluate how to proceed. We believe that together we can optimistically look to the 4th of July 2021 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our popular Dueling Barges Fireworks Display over the mighty Mississippi."
