Public Safety is our priority; barricades and signage will be placed one block away in all directions to alert commuters of the closure. During this time, crews will be forming and pouring the new roadway and completing new sidewalks. New, upgraded sewer lines have already been installed in this area.

This work is part of the $11.9M Black Pearl/East Carrollton Group A project, which began in August 2020. To date, portions of the roadway have been completed on Hickory and Plum streets, as well as sewer line work on Burdette and Adams streets. In the coming months, work will include Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps and concrete roadway installation. In general, the contractor is working from 7 a.m. until sunset up to seven days per week to remain on schedule; the entire project is expected to be completed in spring 2022, weather permitting.
