Sisters take on The Spice & Tea Exchange

Gourmet, Experience-Based Store Offers More than 85 Custom Spice Blends, Loose Leaf Teas & More

New Orleans, La. – A staple in the French Quarter for the past 6 years, The Spice & Tea Exchange®, a specialty retail store offering an extensive selection of spices, seasonings, teas and gourmet gifts has announced that its New Orleans store is under new ownership.

Located at 521 St. Louis Avenue, across from the New Orleans School of Cooking, The Spice & Tea Exchange® is a flavorful destination for culinarians, foodies looking for inspiration, and visiting French Quarter guests. Co-owners Anna and Jensen Heim will be hosting a grand opening celebration from March 1 to March 3, 2018. The celebration will include food samplings, a raffle and other activities geared for the New Orleans Food Fest in the Spanish Plaza.

“Guests who visit the New Orleans location will have the opportunity to open the jars and smell the aromas, which invokes all their senses. They also have the chance to watch our Spice Masters create hand-mixed blends right before their eyes,” said Anna Heim.

The new Spice & Tea Exchange will also feature a fully active tea bar, where patrons can enjoy the atmosphere of the New Orleans French quarter while enjoying a perfect blend of their favorite tea. Additionally, New Orleans locals will be welcomed with a 10 percent discount on all products.

Exemplifying the brand’s mission of “Creating & Sharing the Experience of a More Flavorful Life,” the Heim sisters, whose parents own another location in Galveston, Texas, will continue to introduce residents and visitors to new aromas and flavors, as well as inspire a more flavorful lifestyle at home by providing them with quality products at affordable prices. Anna is a restaurant industry veteran, most recently acting as a consultant for a popular spot in the French Quarter. Jensen, a University of Louisiana at Lafayette graduate, decided to join her sister on this venture to provide marketing and back-of-house support. Together, the two will leverage their respective expertise to create a one-of-a-kind interactive shopping experience in New Orleans. The store will have an abundance of products to choose from, with more than 140 spices, over 85 hand-mixed seasoning blends, 17 naturally-flavored sugars, 25 salts from around the world, and more than 35 exotic teas. The Spice & Tea Exchange® also offers recipes, gift boxes and accessories to complement the spice and tea selections.
