Nothing – not even a pandemic – can stop Tulane University Dining Services by Sodexo from supporting annual homecoming week.
During this year’s first ever virtual “Wave ’20-At-Home” homecoming, Tulanians from across the globe tuned in from home for a week-long celebration of all things homecoming, alumni, reunion, students and families.
Sodexo chefs and the campus dining team host an annual recipe contest wherein Recipes From Home are submitted by students’ families. This year was no exception.

“It is imperative that during this pandemic we continue to normalize our services and engagement with the students and communities we serve,” said Regional Executive Chef Wesley Turnage CEC, CCE, CCA, FMP. “It is our duty to continue to grow and develop positive relationships and programs.”
The Vassal-Beasley family from Bloomfield, MI won the recipe contest for their Moroccan Crab Cakes. They were awarded a set of Le Creuset cookware as well as being featured during the Wave ’20-At-Home virtual celebration.

Chef Wes was filmed by NOLAvid conducting a cooking tutorial streamed during Wave ’20-At-Home on October 13.
The dish, including a vegetarian version, was served in the residential dining hall on game day on October 16.
