Some restaurants are offering pick-up and delivery from their respective locations. Others are not operating at all due to the pandemic, so the partnership with Tulane Dining provided the local establishments an opportunity to get back to business.

The food truck program is cross promoted on social media pages by Tulane Dining and the participating restaurants.

Partners to date include with MOPHO, a Creole influenced Vietnamese restaurant; New Orleans Ice Cream; Torshi Mediterranean cuisine; and gourmet NOLA Sliders.

Area restaurants interested in participating in Eat Local with Tulane Dining should contact Alexandra.Clancy@sodexo.com.

“We’re averaging 30 orders per day with a great deal of repeat business from staff and students excited for the menu options,” said Marketing Coordinator Alexandra Clancy. “It’s also an opportunity to feed local medical workers since the truck is parked near Tulane Hospital and the Tulane School of Medicine.”

All staff wear masks, and stanchions, signage, and ground markings foster social distancing. A handwashing station and sanitizer are available. All food is packaged in to-go containers with individually wrapped cutlery. There is no self-service.

Tulane Dining Executive Chef Jason Cope said, “As a chef, it is extremely rewarding to work with a variety of local food vendors. I’m happy to support local chefs during these hard times.”
