Tulane University Dining Celebrates National Hot Sauce Day

Tulane Dining by Sodexo at Tulane University celebrated National Hot Sauce Day with a local Louisiana favorite, TABASCO.

On January 22, 2021, Tulane Dining by Sodexo at Tulane University celebrated National Hot Sauce Day with a local Louisiana favorite, TABASCO.

“As the hot sauce pioneer born right here in Louisiana, we knew that TABASCO Brand had to get involved with Tulane’s National Hot Sauce Day celebration. We’re excited to be part of the fun and look forward to bringing heat and excitement to our fans at Tulane for many meals to come,” said Simone Reggie, TABASCO Brand Ambassador.

Students, faculty, and staff were treated to an assortment of TABASCO-inspired dishes during lunch period in Tulane’s state-of-the-art Dining Room at the Commons.

TABASCO-inspired fare included chipotle TABASCO wings, spicy catfish with garlic TABASCO aioli, and a TABASCO buffalo chicken sandwich.

Tulane Dining created 100% plant-based jackfruit TABASCO tacos for plant-forward students.

"I can’t think of a better way to end our first week back on campus than with TABASCO and Tulane Dining. The spicy wings are some of the best I’ve ever had," said Alexander Thomas, a senior at Tulane.

TABASCO and Tulane Dining provided branded goodies and prizes for students as they entered the Commons such as t-shirts, tote bags, keychains, and personalized mini bottles of TABASCO for students to take back to the residence halls.

“I can’t wait to use this chipotle TABASCO sauce with my morning breakfast tomorrow,” said Delaney Turton, a senior.

The hot sauce brand has been a staple on Tulane’s campus and its dining establishments for years, and the company looks to continue this partnership well into the future.
