New Orleans will feel the worst of Nate's wrath Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Webcams offer real-time glimpses.

NEW ORLEANS, LA — New Orleans residents were advised to hunker down by 3 p.m. Saturday in preparation for Hurricane Nate, but they can still watch the hurricane on various webcams placed around the city. The current Category 1 storm is expected to strengthen to a Category 2 storm as it churns toward landfall.

New Orleans is expected to experience its worst conditions between 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service said at a Saturday afternoon news conference. Winds reaching 105 mph and storm surges of up to 11 feet are expected to be the main threats.
