Spring is a great opportunity for everyone to head outside and enjoy the mild weather, flowers and the beauty of the season. What better way to do it than with an outdoor spring concert series featuring the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra? Throughout the month of May, Shreveport Symphony Orchestra ensembles will perform four outdoor concerts at several Shreve Memorial Library branches. Each performance is free and open to the public.

Performances will take place in the parking lots of designated Shreve Memorial Library branches and will feature either the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra’s Brass or String Quartets. Families and library patrons are encouraged to sit in their vehicles and listen to the concerts or picnic outside in appropriately social-distanced spaces. The performances will take place on these designated dates and times at the following locations: 

  • Tuesday, May 11 at 5:00 p.m. at West Shreveport Branch, 4380 Pines Road (String Quartet)
  • Friday, May 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Broadmoor Branch, 1212 Captain Shreve Drive (Brass Quintet)
  • Friday, May 21  at 4:00 p.m. at David Raines Branch, 2855 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (Brass Quintet)
  • Thursday, May 27 at 4:00 p.m. at Hamilton/South Caddo Branch, 2111 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop (String Quartet)
