Baxter Boulevard will be closed to motorists this Sunday, October 6 to make way for 3,500-plus Maine Marathon participants.

Baxter Boulevard will be closed to motorists this Sunday, October 6 to make way for 3,500-plus Maine Marathon participants. The Baxter Boulevard closure for the Maine Marathon will be in effect from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM from Preble Street to Washington Avenue. Baxter Boulevard from Forest Ave to Preble St Ext will be closed until 3:00 PM. Local access only for Hannaford and the Preble Street parking lot will be allowed from Marginal Way. Race Start is 7:45 AM, on Baxter Blvd. beside Pedro Field. Race Finish is also at this same location.

List of Portland street closures includes:
- Preble Street (From Forest Ave. to Baxter Blvd.) – 5 AM to 2 PM
- Baxter Blvd. Ext. (From Forest Avenue to Preble Street) – 5 AM to 3 PM
- Baxter Blvd. (From Preble Street to Bates Street/Washington Avenue) – 5 AM to 2 PM
- Payson Park roads (including West Kidder Street, Fernald Street entrances into Payson Park, from Washington Avenue) – 5 AM to 2 PM.
- Side Streets leading onto Baxter Blvd. – 5 AM to 2 PM.
- Veranda Street, 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM.
