National Prescription Drug Take Back Day In City Of Portland

Law enforcement agencies will be collecting unused or unneeded prescription medications so that they can be properly disposed.

Saturday, October 24, 2020 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM is the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be collecting unused or unneeded prescription medications so that they can be properly disposed.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

The Portland Police Department will be staffing drug take back collection sites located at the Back Bay parking lot across from the Hannaford’s at 295 Forest Avenue and at the Walgreens Pharmacies at 364 Allen Avenue and 616 Forest Avenue in their parking lots.
