When's the first day of school in Portland? That, and other must-know dates for parents, students and teachers.

The first day of school in Portland is August 30 for grades 1-12 and September 5 for PreK-Kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites.
