32 Baltimore Schools Closing Early Monday, Officials Say
Students at more than two dozen Baltimore City Public Schools are transitioning to virtual learning Monday due to the heat, officials say.
BALTIMORE, MD — Multiple schools in Baltimore City that lack air conditioning dismissed early Monday, according to authorities.
Students at the impacted schools shifted from in-person to virtual learning for the day at 10:30 a.m.
Staff members will be teaching from home, according to Baltimore City Public Schools officials.

Temperatures are expected to hit 92 degrees and will feel like 97 degrees on the heat index Monday afternoon, according to the forecast for Baltimore from the National Weather Service.
With high temperatures also in the forecast for Tuesday, school officials said they would notify families Monday night of any schedule changes at campuses that lack air conditioning.

Because air conditioning was not working properly at Highlandtown, Liberty Elementary and William S. Baer School, authorities said those were dismissing students early too, and Kipp Harmony Academy was closing at noon Monday.
