Atlas Restaurant Group Begins Baltimore Restaurant Re-Opening
Maryland's roadmap to recovery continues as Atlas Restaurants re-open outdoor dining under new COVID precautions

Atlas Restaurant Group today announced that in accordance with Governor Larry Hogan’s Maryland’s Roadmap to Recovery and Baltimore City Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young’s announcements, most of its Baltimore restaurants will initiate the beginning stages of re-opening with outdoor dining under new precautionary measures starting Friday, May 29 at 5 p.m. EST. The restaurant group has had the unique opportunity to practice for a Baltimore re-opening with its Houston Loch Bar and Ouzo Bay properties open in Texas as of May 8.
Baltimore’s Atlas Restaurant Group establishments Azumi, Loch Bar, Ouzo Bay, Ouzo Beach, Maximon, Tagliata, Italian Disco and The Choptank will re-open for outdoor dining only with limited menus on May 29 at 5 p.m. while following strict public health requirements outlined by the National Restaurant Association, the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The restaurant group is committed to maintaining full transparency about its COVID-19 precautionary measures to ensure a safe and healthy dining environment for its employees and guests, which include:
- Daily employee wellness checks, including body temperature checks.
- Mandatory protective wear. All employees are required to wear gloves and protective masks during operations.
- Social distancing precautions, including reduced party sizes limited to six people or less, as well as new outdoor seating plans designed for table spacing according to governmental and CDC guidelines.
- Increased sanitation measures, including specialized COVID-19 employee training. All common areas and kitchen surfaces will be disinfected hourly, and chairs and tables thoroughly cleaned between every visiting guest.
- Digital and disposable one-use menus.
“We are honored to welcome our guests back with care and excitement,” said Atlas Restaurant Group’s CEO Alex Smith. “Our goal is to create an extra-special outdoor dining experience for Charm City as we slowly return to a sense of normalcy. We recognize the challenges everyone continues to face and want our guests to know they have a clean, safe space to enjoy with our Atlas family.”
