Baltimore Man Playing In Super Bowl LV

A Baltimore native who went to Baltimore City College will be playing in the Super Bowl this weekend.

TAMPA, FL — A Baltimore native will be playing in the Super Bowl this weekend.

Shaquil Barrett, 28, a linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been spotlighted in particular for his ability to make multiple sacks in a single game.

Barrett went to Baltimore City College and Colorado State before being drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2014. He joined the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2019.

The standout defender is already making history, as Tampa Bay will is the first Super Bowl team to play in a Super Bowl at its home stadium. Sunday's game marks the Bucs' second Super Bowl appearance in franchise history — its first was in 2003, when the team beat out the Oakland Raiders for the Lombardi Trophy.

The Chiefs will be making the team's fourth Super Bowl appearance. Its most recent was in 2020, when Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49ers.

The Buccaneers will play the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, which will be broadcast on CBS.
